NHS Scotland Health Board Microbiology and Virology departments have a combined workforce of approximately 1,000 staff and collectively make up the Scottish Microbiology & Virology Network (SMVN):

The SMVN Steering Group provides direction and focus for the network and aims to meet on a minimum of four occasions each year. It is made up of the following members:
