This group was established in May 2021, and it aims to
- Assess the burden of fungal infections in Scotland.
- Attempt to standardize diagnostics and therapy in relation to fungal infections.
- Gather information around the extent to which fungal infections are identified across Scotland.
- Gather intelligence around the nature of laboratory requests that are referred to reference laboratories e.g. Bristol, Leeds or Manchester.
- Collate and monitor guidelines for antifungal therapy.
- Explore how health boards use performance standards in the management of fungal infections.
- Develop a standard audit tool for data collection.
