All hospital have individual pleural units and local anaesthetic thoracoscopy is currently available at VHK and REI, with the full range of pleural diagnostic and therapeutic interventions available on all 5 sites. Surgical input with VATS is offered at REI by the thoracic surgeons. Oncology expertise is provided by the Edinburgh Cancer Centre, WGH.

Dr. Reid works at WGH supporting fellow consultant Dr. Andrew Leitch with the pleural service. Within the unit there is a real focus on ambulatory and patient-centred care in pleural disease.
