Carolyn MacRae

Carolyn MacRae is the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Glasgow and is the CNS Team Leader for Scotland.

Carolyn qualified in 2000 and became a CNS in respiratory medicine in 2007 initially working with patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma and interstitial lung disease, she became a Mesothelioma UK and Lung Cancer CNS in 2017.

Aberdeen

Tracy Petrie

Tracy Petrie is based at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, covering the NHS Grampian, Orkney and Shetland regions. Tracy has been caring for patients with mesothelioma within her lung cancer clinical nurse specialist role for the last six years. Previously she worked in palliative care for seven years and has also been a Senior Charge Nurse elsewhere within NHS Grampian

Dundee

Susan Smyth

Susan Smyth has worked at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, part of NHS Tayside, for 18 years in various roles, and has been a lung cancer specialist nurse for the last 12 years. As a Mesothelioma Clinical Nurse Specialist, Susan offers both clinical help such as fluid drainage from patients’ lungs to make breathing easier, and practical advice such as where to go for benefits advice and support.

Inverness

Jenn Latham

Jenn is based at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness. Having qualified in 1993, she’s been an Advanced Lung Cancer Nurse, specialising in early detection, respiratory medicine and pleural effusions. She is also a national representative on the British Thoracic Society Pleural Sub Advisory Group.

Edinburgh

Lynne Hunter

Lynne Hunter has been appointed as a Mesothelioma UK Clinical Nurse Specialist and will be based at the Western General Hospital, part of NHS Lothian.  Lynn will provide nursing care and support for mesothelioma (asbestos-related cancer) patients in South East Scotland.

Lynne qualified as a Registered Nurse in 2012 and has also completed her clinical decision-making course at Napier University.
