As soon as a child or young person has been identified as having a visual impairment, they should be referred to community visual impairment services in order to access the services and support they require. The VINCYP Multiagency Referral Form can be used by Ophthalmologists, Orthoptists and Visual Impairment Paediatricians to make the appropriate referrals via the central contact in their Health Board area.
