Individuals with congenital absence of the cervix (MRKH or MURC) do not require a cervical smear and therefore may choose to be excluded from the Scottish Cervical Screening Programme.
Your gynaecologist can advise your GP Practice that the ‘no cervix exclusion status’ can by added to the Scottish Cervical Call Recall System (SCCRS) by a Health Care Professional at your GP Practice. If you need any advice regarding this please feel free to contact the SDSD network.
