The patient’s treatment is decided by a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) of specialist clinicians. This process is supported by a referral guideline for suspected cancer and a clinical management pathway (CMP) which outlines a recommended patient treatment pathway. These help promote equitable provision of high-quality care. It is important to note that these are not instructions and cannot replace the role of the clinician in treatment decisions, but act as a support tool for clinicians.
