The patient’s treatment is decided by a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) of specialist clinicians. This process is supported by guidelines outlining a recommended patient treatment pathway.
Guidelines help promote equitable provision of high quality care. It is important to note that they are a support tool for clinicians. Guidelines are not instructions and cannot replace the role of the clinician in treatment decisions.
NHS Scotland has referral guidelines for suspected cancer. Please select ‘Brain and Central Nervous System Cancers’.
