Burn Service Review – Latest Update

The Burns Service Review has now been completed, and reported to the National Planning Forum on 2nd March 2017.

The National Planning Forum has agreed in principle to the implementation of a single Hub for the care of large and complex burns in Scotland, supported by a range of facilities around Scotland to provide care for smaller and less complex burn injuries.
Further work is now needed to agree exactly how this will be progressed, including the location of all services and the number of facilities in addition to the Hub.

The Review Group Chairs will meet with colleagues from National Services Division and the Scottish Health Council to plan the next steps for implementing the recommendations of the review.
