The MARS 2 trial is available for patients who have pleural mesothelioma with disease confined to one side of the chest. The trial is investigating whether having chemotherapy alone or chemotherapy with surgery optimises better outcomes for patients. All patients are offered two cycles of chemotherapy then are randomised to either more chemotherapy or surgical resection. Recruitment to MARS 2 is now closed.
