Dr Sharmila Surendran
Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry
Dr Surendran works as a Consultant in Paediatric dentistry at Dundee Dental Hospital & School and is the Paediatric dentistry lead for the cleft service in Tayside. She works closely with specialists in the cleft team to ensure management of malformed teeth, extra teeth and missing teeth which can be common in children born with cleft. Her team will work with you and your local dentist to make sure your child has healthy teeth.
Dr Surendran graduated from Dr MGR Medical university in 2009 and further completed her specialist training in Paediatric dentistry from Chennai. She worked as a Lecturer in Penang, Malaysia and moved to Edinburgh to complete her post specialist consultant training. She was awarded Fellowship in Paediatric dentistry from Royal college of surgeons, Glasgow prior to taking up consultant post in Dundee. She works both at Dundee Dental hospital & Nine wells.
