SPEN brings together people involved in paediatric epilepsy from all over Scotland to agree the way forward for epilepsy services. The SPEN membership includes:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Patients\/ parents\/ carers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Paediatric Neurologists<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Epilepsy Nurse Specialists<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Paediatricians<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Voluntary Sector Organisations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Neurophysiologists<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>GPs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dietitians<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>NHS Managers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Social Workers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif\">The aims of SPEN are:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif\">To promote the delivery of high quality care to children and adolescents with epilepsy in Scotland<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif\">To be patient centred and deliver seamless care between organisations and professional groups involved in epilepsy care<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif\">To contribute to the setting of standards for epilepsy care and to audit the care provided<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif\">Ensure equity of services for all children and young people with epilepsy wherever they live in Scotland<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif\">SPEN has been a national managed clinical network since 2004 and is supported through <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nsd.scot.nhs.uk\/\">NHS National Services<\/a>. <br><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p class=\"nhsuk-card__description\">About the Scottish Paediatric Epilepsy Network The Scottish Paediatric Epilepsy Network (SPEN) is a national managed clinical network.
