{"id":5856,"date":"2023-06-13T15:18:27","date_gmt":"2023-06-13T14:18:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.scottishmesotheliomanetwork.scot.nhs.uk\/?p=5856"},"modified":"2023-06-13T15:18:27","modified_gmt":"2023-06-13T14:18:27","slug":"extra-meso-feasibility-study-exercise-therapy-in-mesothelioma-study","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nn.nhs.scot\/scottishmesotheliomanetwork\/extra-meso-feasibility-study-exercise-therapy-in-mesothelioma-study\/","title":{"rendered":"EXTRA-Meso feasibility study \u2013 EXercise TheRApy in Mesothelioma Study"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mesothelioma UK, the national asbestos-related cancer charity, has awarded a \u00a338,301 grant for an 18-month research project to explore how exercise therapy can improve symptom control, fitness and the quality of life of mesothelioma patients.<\/p>\n<p>The new project, titled \u2018EXTRA-Meso feasibility study \u2013 EXercise TheRApy in Mesothelioma\u2019, is a collaboration between researchers from the University of Glasgow, NHS Greater Glasgow &amp; Clyde, Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) and Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance.<\/p>\n<p>The new study follows the successful Prehab4Cancer and Recovery programme, a free exercise, nutrition and wellbeing scheme in Greater Manchester.
