They provide in-patient rehabilitation to adults aged 16-65 who have complex disability following a brain injury, and who will benefit from interdisciplinary rehabilitation before being discharged from hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All patients have an individual, goal orientated programme tailored to their own needs. With assistance from their families we help patients to achieve their goals in areas of health, activity and wellbeing. Families\/carers will have an opportunity to attend the rehabilitation sessions. The team comprises nurses, doctors, occupational therapists, clinical neuropsychologists, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, dietitian, technical instructors, clinical co-ordinator, service manager and artist. They also work closely with our colleagues in the acute hospital services and in the community based services. Student training is provided and there are often trainees and students from all disciplines in the centre, taking advantage of excellent learning opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Centre for Brain Injury Rehabilitation is based within the main Royal Victoria Hospital building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The &nbsp;centre has a flexible visiting &nbsp;policy however we&nbsp; ask visitors if possible to avoid therapy times to ensure that patients get the most out of their individual goal orientated programmes. Weekend visiting can be more flexible, however the centre operates a protected mealtimes policy, therefore visiting is discouraged between 12-1pm and 5-6pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Centre for Brain Injury Rehabilitation Short Film &#8211; <\/strong>This short film will introduce you to rehabilitation at the Centre for Brain Injury Rehabilitation. We hope that the information informs you about this stage of the brain injury rehabilitation journey. The video can help prepare you for spending time with us, whether that is as a patient, relative, friend or student. The groups are all member led and the activities vary based on the requirements of the people attending.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The charity offer social outings, activities and on occasion, complimentary therapies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fortnightly social group in Dundee<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recreational activities including arts and crafts and games<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Quizzes and Bingo<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Social events and outings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A brain injury affects the whole family, and usually people are thrust into the role of carer with no prior warning. Headway Tayside groups and committee are designed for brain injury survivors and carers, Therefore the charity fully understand the problems and pressures that people face on a daily basis.
