<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthcareimprovementscotland.scot\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/After-your-child-has-died-May-2025.pdf\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.healthcareimprovementscotland.scot\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/After-your-child-has-died-May-2025.pdf\">After your child has died<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Useful Links<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Compassionate Friend<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tcf.org.uk\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pelican.scot.nhs.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2021\/05\/PELiCaN-TCF.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"Click image to visit website \" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tcf.org.uk\/\">The Compassionate Friends (TCF)<\/a>&nbsp;<\/strong>is a national organisation of bereaved parents offering support and understanding to others after the loss of a child, of any age, from any cause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their&nbsp;<strong>National Helpline<\/strong>&nbsp;is staffed by volunteers who are bereaved parents themselves and offers support and information 365 days a year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Helpline: 0345 123 2304<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hours: daily from 10.00-16.00 and 19.00-22.00<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Email:&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:helpline@tcf.org.uk\">helpline@tcf.org.uk<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Compassionate Friends also offer:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A comprehensive website and moderated online community forum<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Local and specialist support groups and one-to-one support, &nbsp;many of their&nbsp; support groups take place online and are held via video conferencing due to the Covid pandemic<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A befriending scheme where the newly bereaved are \u2018buddied\u2019 by a volunteer longer-bereaved parent (Grief Companion Scheme)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Group support via social media in private, well-moderated Facebook groups<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Information leaflets, bereavement support publications and a unique postal library on all aspects of bereavement<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support for adult bereaved siblings is also available<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">At a Loss<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ataloss.org\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pelican.scot.nhs.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2021\/05\/PELiCaN-At-A-Loss-3-300x95.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"click image to visit website \" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ataloss.org\/\"><strong>At A Loss<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;is a signposting website for bereaved people and the organisations aim is to ensure that every bereaved person in the UK can find the support that they need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They offer free and immediate access to a professional counsellor to talk to via a \u2018live-chat\u2019 facility via a website called \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/griefchat.co.uk\/\"><strong>GriefChat<\/strong><\/a>\u2019.&nbsp; They outsource this service to ensure that anyone bereaved has access to professional counsellors free of charge, that the service offered is guaranteed and, importantly, is consistently of a high standard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Child Bereavement UK<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.childbereavementuk.org\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pelican.scot.nhs.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2021\/05\/PELiCaN-CBUK-300x135.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"Click Image to visit website \" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.childbereavementuk.org\/\"><strong>Child Bereavement UK<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;helps children, parents and families to rebuild their lives when a child grieves or when a child dies.&nbsp;
