The following guidance documents were designed by PELiCaN members to support the decision making, transfer and end-of-life care of a child outwith the critical care unit or ward area. Whilst currently valid and remain available to support decision-making, transfer planning, and end-of-life care for children outside of critical care and ward settings, users should be aware that a substantial revision of this guidance is in development to reflect considerable changes in service delivery, models of care, and clinical practice that have occurred since the original publication. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the principles within the current guidance remain applicable, an updated version will be published following completion of the review process. Until that time, these best practice documents should continue to be used in conjunction with local policies and professional judgement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
