{"id":1383,"date":"2020-02-03T15:26:28","date_gmt":"2020-02-03T15:26:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cobis.scot.nhs.uk\/?p=1383"},"modified":"2020-02-03T15:28:08","modified_gmt":"2020-02-03T15:28:08","slug":"changing-faces-visiblehate-campaign","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nn.nhs.scot\/cobis\/2020\/02\/03\/changing-faces-visiblehate-campaign\/","title":{"rendered":"Changing Faces #VisibleHate Campaign"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>No one should experience abuse, in person or online, because of how they look.<br \/>\nAppearance-related abuse has to end.<br \/>\nIf you have a visible difference you don\u2019t have to deal with these experiences alone.<\/p>\n<p>#VisibleHate Research 2020<br \/>\nChanging Faces&#8217; survey, conducted with SavantaComRes of over 1,000 people with a visible difference, such as a mark or scar, provides for the first time an accurate picture of how those with visible differences are affected by hate crime:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Seven in ten people have experienced negative behaviours because of their visible difference<\/li>\n<li>Over a quarter (28%) of people with a visible difference have experienced a hate crime<\/li>\n<li>Over 40% of people with a visible difference have had negative experiences online and one in ten say they are repeatedly harassed on social media.<\/li>\n<li>Almost half (45%) of those who have experienced negative behaviours say they have lost confidence, over a third (35%) say they now feel anxious when they go out<\/li>\n<li>Of those people with a visible difference that experienced a hate crime, about 70% did not report it<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bit.ly\/CFVisibleHateSocialMedia\">www.bit.ly\/CFVisibleHateSocialMedia<\/a><\/p>\n<p>If You Need Support<br \/>\nNo one should experience abuse, in person, or online, because of how they look.
